Ban the Box Ordinance

Presenters Claudia de Palma and Brendan Lynch from Community Legal Services discussed how the law affects employers' ability to inquire about and consider criminal records, with a particular focus on the recent amendments that have expanded the ordinance to protect more workers.
PRC Racial Equity Training Pt 1

Facilitated by Philadelphia's Office of Criminal Justice, Part 1 provided an overview of the policies, trends, and cultural narratives that created a racialized system of mass incarceration in Philadelphia and across the country. This training gave attendees the historical foundation needed to unpack structural racism in Philadelphia - and to start building new, more just systems.
